Thinly slice the onion, mince the garlic, and cut the broccoli into small florets. Slice the beef into strips. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, white wine (or substitute), and cornstarch.
Cook the vegetables
Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onion and cook for about 2 minutes until softened. Stir in the garlic and cook for another minute. Add the broccoli and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until it’s bright green but still crisp. Remove the onion, garlic, and broccoli from the pan and set aside.
Cook the beef
Heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil in the wok. Once hot, add the beef and stir-fry until cooked through.
Combine everything
Return the cooked broccoli, onion, and garlic to the wok with the beef. Drizzle the honey over the mixture, then pour in the soy sauce mixture. Toss everything together until well combined and heated through.
Finish & serve
Sprinkle with red pepper flakes if using. Serve hot over cooked rice.
Notes
Slice beef thinly. This ensures quick cooking and tender bites.Use high heat. Stir-frying works best when the pan is hot.Don’t overcrowd the pan.
